When you buy a property in Thailand, the value of the property will go up. Property appreciation counts especially for expensive properties. If you buy something cheap, you have the risk that it will be cheaper in a few years, but you don’t have that risk when you buy an expensive property.

We checked the figures with Bangkok Bank and see that the property prices went up with 4.9% the last years. Every five years the Phuket Real Estate Association checks the prices in Phuket and they see a 5 to 10% raise every time. For this period they even expect a price appreciation of 15% for Phuket! This is three times higher than the number given by Bangkok Bank for Thailand.
